Our favorite chainsaw-wielding skin-peeling basement-stalking hillbilly is out again, ready to chase and chop anyone in his way.

After nearly 50 years since the last massacre, the quiet Texan town of Harlow is once again teared with the screams and roars of Leatherface's raging weapon as countless victims meet their impending doom.
The newest reboot of the original Tobe Hooper Texas Chainsaw Massacre is directed by David Blue Garcia and stars upcoming talent Sarah Yarkin as Melody, Jacob Latimore as Dante, Nell Hudson as Ruth, Elsie Fisher as Lila and Olwen Fouéré as now grown-up Sally Hardesty. The installment, brought to us by Netflix, promises to give us a new, modern render of Leatherface carnage, whilst still being true to the cult-classic of 1974.
That being said, there wasn't much left for the imagination after Netflix released the official trailer for the new film - and fans were quick to point out the reliance on already established modern horror tropes like the returning aged final girl (eg Jamie Lee Curtis's Laurie Strode in the Halloween reboot trilogy) and the reliance on fresh blood aka a new young cast to revive the run-down plot. Some even went as far as calling the TCM reboot 'comical' and 'tired', flagging it as another cash-grab from the mainstream studio.
The latest take in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre saga premieres on February 18th, streaming exclusively on Netflix.
