Dear Reader,
First of all, I'd like to thank you. Thank you for joining me on this exciting journey through horror - I know it's gonna be a good one.
I understand you're curious - there is much that stays hidden behind the fog. But fear not, I will unveil all that needs to be unveiled.
You are probably wondering who I am, and what is OCTOBRIA? This I'll tell you.
Like you, I grew up fascinated by the monsters underneath my bed - I was curious, but no less I was frightened. I wanted to know why. What was it that made me feel this way? What was it that had so much power over me?
Fear is a drug. It alters your perception, makes you feel weightless, senseless. It draws you in. And keeps you hooked.
For years I refused to admit this reality. I thought 'I don't really like horror', 'it's silly', 'it isn't real.' Needless to say, I was wrong.
No matter how many times you close your eyes when the music swells, you're still gonna spend the night thinking of what was on the screen. It's what horror does. It gives you a glimpse of what really is, what really can be. Just enough to make you wonder. And then it stays with you. It lingers. And it never really leaves.
I was 16 when I said enough is enough. I sat on my laptop, opened a notebook and started recording what was in my head. Soon enough that became a script, a short film, a couple of videos, a few essays, a poem or two - and then before I knew it OCTOBRIA was born.
Ever since, OCTOBRIA has been a place for creativity, expressionism and support - OCTOBRIA is home. It's a place for anyone to be heard, and welcomed. It's a place for emotions, opinions and friendships. It's a place for horror.
So welcome, dear reader.
Welcome home.
